How it works
- Random Disney+ title from a curated list spanning Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney animation and Disney+ originals.
- Filter by sub-catalogue (Pixar only, Marvel only, Star Wars only, classic Disney, originals).
- Filter by age suitability (very young, kids, teens, adults).
Why use this tool
- Disney+ has ~3,500 titles. The "what shall we watch on Disney+?" question is just as bad as the Netflix version.
- Curated to genuinely watchable picks — not all 50 spin-off Star Wars cartoons.
- Pixar tier especially well-curated for adult-friendly family viewing.
When to use it
- Family Disney+ subscription — pick what to watch tonight without scrolling.
- Star Wars universe immersion — filter to Star Wars, work through the canon.
- Marvel completionists — filter to MCU, pick what's next in your viewing order.
- Sick day comfort viewing — Pixar / Disney animation filter.

When to use Disney+ Roulette
- Friday-night wind-down when nobody wants to commit to picking.
- The "we've been on the streaming home screen for 12 minutes" moment.
- Rainy-Sunday household when everyone's in different rooms and someone needs to decide.
How the picker works
Disney+ Roulette runs entirely in your browser — no servers, no accounts, no data sent anywhere. Each pick uses your browser's built-in cryptographic random-number generator (window.crypto.getRandomValues), which is uniformly distributed across the option pool.
The pool for this picker: 20 curated options. Every option has an equal probability of being selected on any given pick (about 5.00% per option).
Picker-kind picks return a single random option from the pool. If you add your own options, they're weighted equally alongside the built-in set.
If you want a deliberately weighted pick (favouring some options over others), the picker isn't the right tool — try structuring the choice as a wheel with duplicated entries, or split into two picks (category first, then item within category).
Related pickers + when to prefer each
Disney+ Roulette is one of several related pickers on the site. The rest of this cluster covers adjacent decisions:
Family Movie Generator — the closest neighbour when this picker isn't quite the right fit.
What Should I Watch — the closest neighbour when this picker isn't quite the right fit.
Random Oscar Winner — the closest neighbour when this picker isn't quite the right fit.
All picks are independent — running one picker doesn't influence the others.
About this category
Streaming paralysis is the modern version of "nothing on TV". Netflix has ~4,500 titles in the UK library; a household of two typically browses 15-30 minutes before starting something they'd have picked anyway.
This category covers show pickers, movie pickers, genre selectors, decade filters and format decisions — the tools designed to make "just pick something" actually work.
FAQ
Is this current?
Curated list of recently-available Disney+ titles. Availability changes — confirm before settling in.
Does it know what I've already watched?
No — Disney+ doesn't expose watch history to external tools. Use the "exclude these" custom field to mark seen titles, the picker skips them.
