Editorial policy
How we decide what goes on the site, how we test it, and how we correct mistakes.
Who writes for RDG
The site is written by a small team of writers, none of whom accept payment or gifts from any of the brands, films, restaurants, or destinations mentioned. Every editorial piece is signed with a real author and dated. Corrections are logged at the bottom of each article.
How lists are built
- Every generator is powered by a curated list. Not a database, not an API scrape, not an AI dump.
- A writer proposes items with a rationale.
- An editor reviews for quality, factual accuracy, and family-safety where applicable.
- Lists are updated at least twice a year to reflect availability, new releases, or seasonal changes.
How editorial pieces are commissioned
The 30+ editorial articles on the site (essays, guides, "best of" lists) are commissioned to fill topic gaps our tools alone don\'t address — decision fatigue, meal planning, wedding vows, and so on. They are:
- Written by humans (never AI-only).
- Fact-checked against primary sources where claims are testable.
- Linked internally to relevant tools where the reader would benefit.
- Reviewed annually for currency.
Where AI is (and isn\'t) used
AI models are used for: draft outlining, spelling and grammar checks, keyword research, and internal-tools code. AI models are not used to: write finished editorial copy, generate list items, produce fake author bios, or bypass fact-checking.
Corrections and complaints
If you spot an error, please email corrections@randomdecisiongenerator.co.uk or use the contact form. We aim to correct verified errors within 5 working days and log the correction publicly at the bottom of the affected article.
Commercial disclosures
Every affiliate link on the site is marked as sponsored via rel="sponsored". Every page that carries an affiliate link also links to our Affiliate Disclosure. We only recommend products we\'d recommend without the affiliate relationship.
What we won\'t do
- Sell placement in our generator lists. If a movie / restaurant / product is picked, it\'s because our editor rated it worth picking.
- Publish sponsored editorial pieces (guest posts) that read as our own opinion.
- A/B test the actual result of a picker to increase clicks — the pick is what the pick is.
- Track individual users across sessions for behavioural targeting.
